After a day of exploring all that the Shoreline has to offer, you deserve a hearty meal you can really sink your teeth into. These restaurants serve uniquely flavorful burgers with mouth-watering toppings.

I have to admit, as much as I’m trying to get out and support our local restaurants as much as possible, some days it’s just not possible. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to elevate my home meals and bring that restaurant quality home. J&R Scallops was born out of the pandemic, bringing home the same quality seafood found in our favorite restaurants like Penny Lane Pub, Saybrook Point Inn, and Cafe Routier.

The Shoreline’s culinary scene offers something for everyone, including vegan and vegetarian foodies (and we aren’t just talking about sad salads)! It’s peach season! While I definitely don’t count down to the end of summer, when we get into the end of August, I’m definitely counting down until the peaches ripen on the Connecticut coast. When Bishop’s Orchard opens their pick-your-own peaches, they open the best tasting peaches on the Shoreline.

No trip to the Shoreline is complete without some fresh from the dock seafood. From clam chowder, to fresh mussels, crabs, and lobster the Shoreline is the place to go for delicious seafood with plenty of New England charm.

Summer is here, so let’s hear it! I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. Nothing ends a great summer day than ice cream. Thankfully the Shoreline offers some of the best, locally made options available.

The abundance of local farms and fresh produce is one of the best aspects of the Shoreline community. Being able to pick your own fruit, vegetables and flowers makes this time of year the perfect time to enjoy the many local and family owned farms that line the coast here in Connecticut.

The lobster roll was created in Connecticut (Milford to be exact), but over the years the Shoreline has perfected it. What do we mean by perfected? We’re talkin’ local catch, and authentic waterfront dining right on the Long Island Sound.

From SMORSTiX in Madison, once you bite into a hot, juicy pineapple in the middle of all the rich sweetness around it, you’ll get it.

From the M/BAR in Mystic, this cocktail is the perfect blend of sweet and savory fall spices.  A little bit more about MBAR: it's a restored gas station featuring barista-crafted coffee, world renowned wine, specialty spirits and inspired seasonal fare in a historic downtown. The perfect place to gather with friends.  

And the winner is Adam Young, but maybe it's really everyone in the Shoreline community too! As we get to enjoy the variety of artisanal breads, breakfast pastries and sweet and savory delights that fill the counters of Sift Bake Shop in Mystic, CT.
